Getting ready

For the Great Backyard Bird Count. This list doesn't count, because it was taken in dribs and drabs over the course of about five hours. But I promise that this is a real live count.

Carolina Chickadee: 1
House Finch: 2
Goldfinch: 3
Great tailed grackle: 3
Starlings: 8
Blue Jay: 1
House sparrow: 3
Ruby-crowned kinglet: 1
Rock dove: 1
Carolina wren: 1
Northern Cardinal: 1
Yellow-rumped warbler: 1
Cedar waxwing: 1
Red-bellied woodpecker: 1

I know we have more than three goldfinches around, and I know we have more than one Carolina Wren. That cardinal has a mate that you see in my cardinal post below. But that was another day and this was today.
As for the single Cedar Waxwing? No idea. They usually travel in groups no smaller than ten or so, but I only saw the one.
