Nice Weekend

Starting to feel like fall. Picked up four rainbarrels on Saturday morning, and were rewarded with a surprising 1 3/4" of rainfall later that day. Even without a gutter system, we managed to fill one barrel more than half-way full of water.
In bird news, we saw a gorgeous Oriole on the birdbath yesterday. Hummingbirds are still visiting the feeder and our Coral Vine on a regular basis. Haven't really seen the owls lately. We'll need to shoo the squirells from that nesting box soon.

Long overdue update

Well, the heat finally broke, and we had a few cool days as well as a little rain. Pretty nice rain today, about 1/2 inch or so. Warm and humid out, but not totally unbearable.

Took apart the dying ghost plant, split it into pieces, and re-planted them in the same place. Hopefully they will take, especially now that the soil is moist. Will post a pic later.
