Oh, snap!

Woke up to temps in the 40s and an inch of rain on the ground. Starting to feel like winter around here.

Time to clean up and mulch the garden. We've started to see our wild cilantro come up. Piquin peppers are ready to harvest now. Might do that or might leave them to the birds.

Seen as many as seven goldfinches at once so far. Feeders are already half empty. What piggies those little guys are!

Coldness!

Horribly windy on Wednesday, then chilly on Thursday and Friday. Looks like time to start pruning, and to finally build a cold frame. (Picture is a red-shouldered hawk we spotted on a power pole in the front yard).

New to the neighborhood

Morning glories, which sleeped and creeped for a while now and are now ready to etc.

Carolina Wren Update

Just accidentally snuck up on our pair of Carolna Wrens in the back yard. They were actually really close in to the house. Hopefully we'll see more of those two.

Our chance of rain never materialized this week, so I watered today.
